Welcome to Second Grade! My Name is Julie Litkenhus and I am very excited to be your child's second grade teacher this year. I am a graduate of the University of Evansville in Southern Indiana. I hold a degree in elementary education with a music endorsement.
Most of you know that I have been the music teacher for the past three years at Central. Before moving to Illinois, I taught five years in Southern Indiana. I taught music for 3 years and fourth grade for 2 years.
I currently live in Mackinaw with my husband, Thad. We enjoy being outdoors and especially enjoy gardening and landscaping. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, walking and playing the piano.
I look forward to meeting you and your students this year. Your child’s overall success is my number one priority! Students will be given opportunities to grow and develop academically, emotionally and socially. I realize all students are unique and I will strive to meet their various learning styles and needs.
If you ever have questions or concerns, please fell free to contact me be calling Central at 444- 3943 or by sending a note. I realize all students are unique and I will strive to meet their carious learning styles and needs.
As in previous years, the “Teachers..Parents..Commuicator” folder will be used to send home important notices as well as graded work. Please check the folder daily and return any papers or notes to school in this folder.
Again, welcome and I look forward to meeting each of you very soon!
